A Tender Miracle: a tribute to the love that cares, protects, and transforms

This Mother’s Day, World Vision honors all mothers, volunteers, staff members, sponsors, colleagues, and friends who, through their role, protect and care for children with tenderness and love. Because the greatest miracle is recognizing how special we truly are.

TIERNO MILAGRO, CORTOMETRAJE WORLD VISION COLOMBIA

In celebration of Mother’s Day, World Vision Colombia presents Tender Miracle, one of the first short films created by the communications team, with the purpose of touching hearts and inspiring reflection. This production was born as a living reminder to tell the world that the love women pour into caring for and protecting children, is one of the most powerful gifts that exists.

The short film tells two intertwined stories rooted in human emotion and sensitivity. Sebastián, a World Vision staff member who, due to life circumstances, has grown distant from his mother while facing the weight of silence and separation caused by work. And Tomás, a child full of energy and dreams, who lives with the absence of his mother as she works abroad — a distance that leaves an emptiness only love and the hope of seeing her again can help ease. Two lives, one shared truth: in our mothers’ arms, we have always been safe.

Through these stories, Tender Miracle reminds us that no matter the circumstances, there is always a chance to reconnect, rebuild, and strengthen the unique bond we share with our mothers.

“When we realize that we have always been safe in our mothers’ arms, the Tender Miracle happens: that moment that brings us back to those warm and loving embraces. With this story, we wanted to invite people to pause for a moment in the middle of everyday life and remember, through the eyes of children, that in those arms we have always been loved.” Tatiana Amézquita, Producer of the short film.

“The short film was developed in stages: pre-production, scriptwriting, defining roles, and team support; then production with actors and two days of filming; and finally, editing. We wanted to create something that would truly touch people’s hearts, and I believe we achieved that as the World Vision communications team.” Erik Melo, Director of the short film.

This short film is not only a creative milestone for the World Vision team, but also an invitation to take action: to make a phone call, send a message, hug, forgive, be present, and not let time or distance weaken one of the most meaningful bonds in life.

Because there is always time to come back. Tender Miracle reminds us that a mother’s love continues to be one of the most powerful gifts we have, and although we celebrate it today, every day is a good day to show love to those who gave us life.

“This short film is a personal tribute. Being a mother has taught me that caring is the most valuable act there is. Today, with pride and gratitude, I want to thank every mother and every woman for the incredible gift they have of protecting and loving children with tenderness. Thank you for being the miracle that always returns.” Mayerly Sánchez, Communications and Brand Director· World Vision Colombia
